MY ENGLISH PROGRESS

WRITTENS TASK:
Since the first composition to the last one there are a lot of differences on my English progress. I used to wrote more easy and simple as you can see on my first composition, (an e-mail to a teacher where I explained my life). The last one was a formal letter for a President complain about the child explotion in their country and we can observe the progress on the contain. 
On the linguistic arguments, I can see that at the begining of the course the structure was very simply and now is more formal and worked. The vocabulary used in the first post was more basic and in the last one has been more specific. 
To conclude, I can say that I did a big develop from the first course of "Batxillerat" to the final of second, so I have improved my maturity in the written documents. 

ORAL PRESENTATION:
About my oral presentation, I can say that I have improved a lot my English since the first presentation, that was about weddings, to the last one, about my research project: my reserch project: did really know what we pay?. I can observe a lot of differences, specialy on the way to did it: I did the first one with my friends and the last one alone, so it has been a big step for me. Also, I can see that the topic was very different. The first was more objective and the last more subjective, because I explain what I did in my reserch project. 
On the linguistic arguments, I can see that my pronunciation has improve a lot. More over, my language is better than in the past,  I have more fluency to speak in public and I have improved with the eye contact.

I am writing to enquire about child exploitation in your country. This situation is very frequent because too many  children do not go to school and they have to go to work from very early ages. Their workday is very long and they have to do the same thing all the time. Also, they are working inside big factories because they have to do a lot of things.  multinational companies  take on children as they have small hands and arms and they can do specific work. The worst of the worst is that there are low salaries to do a lot of work.

I wish child explotion definitily would disappear for ever. Children are not prepared for do what the multinacional demands. Also, they do not have any resources to survive, so they have to work a lot to try to survive. I wish you would reduce it for avoid this problems in your country.

SPAIN: ABORTION BILL ENDANGERS GIRLS

In Spain the Popular Party should withdraw a bill that would force the girls of 16-17 years old to obtain the consent of their parents to terminate the pregnancy. 
The right party says that it can produce a serious threat to the health and sexual.
The proposte legislative change says that the girls of 16-17 years old would be obligated to obtain consent from their parents before terminating a pregnancy.
International human rights law recognizes the access to safe and legal abortions is fundamentals to women and girls exercice for their human rights.

In my point of view, I think that it's a good law to approve because if a girl of 16 years old has a child, the parents of the mother of the child has to take care for the two, because she is very young.

HUMAN RIGHTS

1. What are human rights? The rights you have simply because you're human

2. When and why were they created? In 1948, because after the war they saw the horror caused and they decided to created the human rights because it doesn't happen again.

3. How many human rights are there? There are 30 human rights.

4. Which human right were you not familiar with? The right to play, asylum, rest and relaxation.

VOCABULARY

Slavery: slavery began in the New World in the 16th century.

Unfair: It's unfair, we are all equal.

Detainment: The policeman did the detainment of the thief.

Trial: They are on trial for armed robbery.


I chose the human right of education because I think that it's an important one from my point of view. This is respected in Spain, but it's violated in Africa, where a lot of children didn't go to the school.

SKYPE WITH NOA

Weeks ago all the second of bachilor did a skype with an exstudent form Ies Castelló. Shs decided to do a Gap year in Austraila. In the conference Noa talks about his experience in Australia and about to take the decision to do a gap year. 

We asked questions about his travel and his experience there. Also, we asked why she did it, and the diferences of culutues. 

Now, she still in Australia takeing care about childrens, she lives in a family where as I said she take care abou the guys. 

She decided to do a gap year, because she wants to improve her english. Also, she do it to take experience and for clarify his ideas.

I think that it's a good idea to do a gap year because you learn the idiom, you grow up, you know diference cultures and other things. I would like to do a gap year, but if I do it I think that I will do an Erasmus during the degree, I would like to go to New York.

ABSTRACT

The present reserch project is about Taxes, that is an important topic in our society. The project has two main objectives. The most important one is to find out people's knowledge about taxes and the other part is to discover what part of our expenses are devoted to the payment of taxes.

In order to get results for these objectives, I did surveys to the population and I collected all the receipts that a random family has. 

Key words: tax, tax system, expenses.

The mum's name is Kate.

The daughter's name is Charlotte.

Charlotte: Hey mum, I have to tell you something important for me.

Kate: What? Are you pregnant?

Kate: Shut up! you are perfect and you aren't going through the operation room. Darling your beauty inside is the most important thing, you have to be who you are and you don't have to listen to the boys opinion.

Charlotte: Well, yes mum I guess, you are right. The boys are idiot. Sorry, forget about it.

TACTICS ON SELLING

The hard selling: is an aggressive techniques of selling products using advertising. 

The soft sell: is an advertisement or campaign that uses a more casual, or friendly sales message.

DOES HUMOR PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN LIFE?

Do you laught a lot? With who do you laugh? How often do you laugh? Humor is an important way to be happier in our life.

Nowadays, we are a society where we have a lot of stress and we are very strict in the jobs, so we have very strict orders from our boss. We need humor to distract us and for beeing more grateful and friendly with the people around us.

Also, humor can be a way to do the things better than when you are without humor. If you are happier you can better enjoy life and you can be good with yourself.

In conclusion, humor is essential in our life because it can help us o survive better and to be more grateful.

FIRST MAIL

I’m Sílvia Costa and I’m 16 years old, but in October I’m goning to be 17. I’m studying second of economic baxillerat at Castelló d’Empúries. I love playing volellyball, because I am in a team in Sant Pere Pecador. I like to see films and series,too.

Now, I have to think about my short-term goals, like the reserch project that I have to hand  it in in December. Also, passing  second batxillerat and the selectivitat is one of the most important short-term goalS right now for me because I want to do a degree so, I need to finish my secondary studies first.

One of my long-term goals is going to study business in Barcelona. I would like to live there in a flat with my friends. In the future, also,I want to be married and have children, like a family and the last but not the least  I would like to work in a big company. My big dream is traveling to USA.

About the speech of Obama, I would like to underline the importance that he say about what you want, you can get it with effort and work.

FINAL REFLECTION

1. Can you see an improvement on your level of English in these last two years? 

Where, for example?

Yes, because when I started my were very shorts and simple vocabulary. For example, in my first post in the blog that it was in October on 2012.

2. Which activity best shows your level of English? 

I think that the post that I show my best level of English is this, because I show all, like my pronunciation, my languaje and more things. 

3. Which activities were really USEFUL for you to improve your English? Why? 

I think that the usful to improve your English are the news, because you learn a lot summarize the newas and doing your opinion. I say that because is the part of my blog that is more difficul for me. 

4. Which activities did you not find useful to learn English? Why not? 

In my point of view, all what we do in class is useful but I think that the traduction of the songs is less useful, because is very tiresome, but yo can know what the song say. 

5. Which activities would like to do again next year to keep on improving your English? 

I think the your-says because you explain what you like and you have more inspiration, because you like the topic.

I think that we have to talk more in class for improve our pronunciation.

Nowadays, a lot of people are saying that we are going to be happier if we do not go shopping. But, it is true? In my opinion it is true. 

Firstly, I feel that working less hours can be a big change, for all of us, because we can spend more time with our family or socialize withe other people. 

Secondly, the society is focus only to producemore and more to earn more money to consume and they think that are going to be happier, but in my point of view, it is a wrong mentality. We can be happier without all the goods, because we have things that we do not use. 

In conclusion, society is buying more stuff that they do not need and they are working a lot without free time to have fun.

SCIENCE EXPERIMENTATION

Every day the science is progressing. The question is the science can be good or bad?

On the one hand, science can create atomics bombs to kill a lot of people and for creating a new war. Morever, if we do more experiments, they could produce a lot of pollution in our society. 

On the other hand,  science can help the progress of humanity creating new medicines for expending our lives. Adding to that, with medicines a lot of people could be saved. 

In conclusion, I think that science experiments have two sides: the part that can help or save a lot of people creating new medicines. And the problematic part, which nobody wants, where the science could kill a lot of innocent people.

MY GAP YEAR

Gap year

I'd like to travel to USA, because I really like this country, but I never travel there. A Gap year is a big oportunity for know USA and work at the same time. I choose to be an Au Pair in a house that I don't know. I think that do this work, you can learn a lot, you can have fun at the same time and the most important thing is that you aren't alone in a big country.

I'm going to be an Au pair consist to go to USA during 12 months for take care, entretain the children of the house where I'm going to live. During this statge I'm going to work 45hours a week that I have care of the children during five days and half and a maximum of 10 hours a day.

I'm going to receive $195.75 a week and I will have two holidays weeks and one weekend of the months free. 

DESCRIPTION OF A PERSON

I'm going to describe my best friend, called Carla. She was born in 20th of october 1997. Now, she's 16th years old and she's from a small village near Figueres, called Vila-Sacra. Carla is studing first of bachelor of economics in IES Castelló d'Empúries. She plays football in a girls team in Cabanas, and she's hooked on the programme of MYHYV.

Carla is small and she's still slim with a good figure. She has a long, brown and neater hair. Her face is smallish, she's pale-skinned and she has brown freckles. Carla has brown eyes and thin eyebrows. Normally, she wears pullovers and hoodies with a pair of jeans or leggins. She's not very keen on wearing dresses and skirts. 

Carla is honest, hard working and generous with the people that she knows. Usually, she's cheerful and responsible. Carla is shy, but when you trust with Carla, she's very crazy and she has sense of humor. She has strong-willed. 

In my point of view, she's a big person and when I'm with Carla, I enjoy all the time. When the people say: the appearance can be deceptive, in Carla is the best example. Because, when you can see her the first time you can say: she's very shy, patience and quiet. But when you know her, you can see that she's very different, she's very crazy and funny. Carla is a very special best friend.
